Well this run certainly lived up to its name; the temperature could barely have risen above 3C and combined with windchill was something substantially negative! We
were all surprised how many (and how enthusiastic) riders turned up - 20 + pillions in all. Their determination paid off nicely as a lovely ride over the down towards Freshwater,
back to Newport sprinting along Forest road, up Staplers and over East WIght Downs finishing for a nice coffee and chat at the Roman Villa. There was only one mishap to one
of our riders - er yes - me; stopping at the junction at Yarmouth my trusty steed conked out. Now I have had a few problems awhile back with its starting but it was reliably
fixed; anyway I guess I panicked and started bashing away at switches while the Pack gathered expectantly behind me - and then around me. 'Try it now' said Bob after flicking
something - it worked ! 'What did you do ?' I asked. 'You don't want to know' came the reply. So why do we have 'kill' switches anyway eh ? - stupid things! At the Roman Villa
I was pronouncing the benefits of the Pack adopting the 'lay-off' marking system for future rides saying how it took away stress of riders needing to keep up, to which others alluded
that indeed it would even help with riders who couldn't even start their bikes - er yes, point taken - now lets just forget the whole thing eh ? (please!)
